My experience is the same. HL2 seems to run as good or better in Vista than
in XP. My only issue is that, under XP I had to disable DirectX sound
acceleration to minimize sound looping crashes. This is not possible under
Vista. So, I ditched my Audigy card (which had other problems under RC1)
and went to onboard sound (Soundmax). So far, I've only had 2 crashes (with
RC1), which to me is pretty good. No crashes yet with RC2.
I've got an Asus K8V with AMD 3400, 1 gb ram, Geforce 5950 256 MB.
