| | standard vs admin account I'm having troubles with a Cintiq Tablet in the standard account. I narrowed down the problem to something to do with admin or standard account. Basically, I created a standard account for security reasons. I've learned to accept the annoying UAC password prompts and crashes when entering the passwords at least once daily. But with this current problem, I haven't found an easy work around. So disabling UAC is out of the question. I already know a UAC free machine runs much better. Just as a single user machine runs fine. I boot directly into the standard account. When I try to use the tablet, it's dead. When I hit the preferences shortcut on the desktop, I get errors saying reboot there's a problem with the tablet driver. And a 2nd warning also that it can't find the tablet driver. Obviously re-booting is a waste of time. It ALWAYS fails booting into the standard account. But switching users or logging off in to the admin account, and the tablets up and running just fine. Return to the standard account, and the tablets still fine. I asked at Wacom on where the standard account was looking for the drivers, I can move them anywhere it's looking for them. But It doesn't seem to be acan't find problem, since it's fine in the admin account, and in the standard AFTER I log into the admin and return to the standard account. Ok standard vs admin account gurus, I need more help than MS offers on how to fix this so the tablet runs directly fine at boot in the standard account. |

It got half way thru, messed up a folder or two, screwed up everything else, and never did create the 2nd account. After poison Ivy struck 6 months ago, I went with all of MS recommendations since my virus software was just draining my wallet. One care actually did find and clean it. Anyway's I went back aggressively and did create a standard account. I think I took a nap while it worked, and it finally finished. Guess I can expect the same and hope it takes less than 48 hours to create the account. Hmm. You say profile.. not account.. Till I hear back, I'll research what you've said about creating a profile..
