blurry windows

Hi,

I just installed Vista and I really have a problem with how some programs
are displayed. As I found it extremly difficult read the tiny font that is
used as default, I had to turn up the (dpi) resolution. But now some programs
look like they are somehow stretched. The proportions are ok, but the whole
program look like it is interpolated from a much lower resolution. This for
example happen in Windows Mail or Firefox. The Internet Explorer, Wordpad,
etc. works fine.

How can I fix this behaviour?

Thanks
Sebastian

Check you have not given it a widescreen resolution if you have not got a
widescreen monitor.
