Color Changes

Does anyone know why I am unable to customize the Basic Vista colors? It
doesn't matter what I change the washed-out colors to they won't change. The
Selected Item on my computer is so faint it's virtually impossible to see.
I've changed it to a darker blue in the Advanced setup but it doesn't change
the screen color at all.

I'm using RC2 but had the same problem with RC1.

RE: Color Changes

you arent supposed to be able to change the colors... at least i dont think
you are. They're supposed to be plastiky blue. unless you have Aero, then you
can change the hue, contrast, brightness, and intesity of the colors

RE: Color Changes

To the best of my recollection you have always been able to modify any color
scheme in Windows simply by going to the Advanced section and changing the
colors, and that has always included Windows color schemes. But for some
reason I am unable to in Vista. Perhaps Microsoft believes that its
washed-out, hard-to-see blues are beyond changing.

Always (B2, RC1,RC2) Worked here. (just changed it to a wine colour
with Dark Blue titles)
x86, Nvidia FX 5200 (scores a Aero 2.0), AMD 2600+ 1.5G

When you click "Apply", do you see "Please Wait"?
Do you have a "Admin user" account?

Steve....

Yes, when I click "Apply" I do see "Please Wait", but nothing changes. I do
have an Admin account and I've logged on there and tried with the same
negative results. It's not a huge deal except that the Selected Items
background is so faint it's very difficult to see. And as Microsoft offers
nothing but the Vista Basic I was hoping to be able to darken it up.
