Setup with Installshield

Hi,

I have tried to install one of my Apps with a setup I build with installshield.
this setup installs several OCX tools (e.g. txTextControl 12 or some ctTools from DBI).
In XP it works, but in Vista the tools will not installed.

If I install all the OCX with Regsvr32 all works well.

any idea?

regards Wolfgang

Re: Setup with Installshield

Hi,

Did you try right-click/run as admin? If not, see if that works. If it does,
then the failure's due to either UAC or a permissions issue.

Re: Setup with Installshield

thanks,
run as Admin works.

but I dont understand, my account is admin type?

what is the difference between run as admin and logged in as a account with admin rights?

btw, uac was already disabled.

regards
Wolfgang

Re: Setup with Installshield

Hi,

There is the administrator account, then there is the administrators (with
an 's') group. Users in the group have the right to invoke full privileges,
but otherwise run slightly less elevated. Part of the new security paradigm.
