How do I determine what is causing this problem?
In Beta 2 I had a problem where Vista would randomly die to a black screen
(not blue screen). At this point I would just have to power down my machine.
In RC1 (5600 and 5728) I did not experience this problem but instead I would
get random blue screens (attributed to my ATI Radeon 9700 Pro video driver).
I upgraded to RC2 (5744) over the weekend and now the black screen of death
has come back. Like in Beta 2, I will be using Vista and then all of a sudden
the screen will turn black and the monitor goes into low power mode.
ctrl-alt-del does nothing, moving the mouse does nothing, so the only thing I
can do is power down and start again. When I restart I cannot figure out why
it crashed, nothing in the event log, no problem reports. Anyone else finding
similar problems?
