Re: Vista is nothing but a screwed up XP

I meant I wanted to know how to disable hibernation. Thanks for the
attempt. I do not see hibernation in the list of shut-down options, so
perhaps it's already disabled, although there was 1.5GB of things for
hibernation with disk cleanup...

RE: Vista is nothing but a screwed up XP

I think you forget that this is still a test platform. Yes, some things you
don't like will still be there, but most of the problems will be fixed.
Now, if you don't like Vista, uninstall it, set XP back up, and vow to never
buy Vista. I am sure there will still be support for XP for a long time,
heck, I still see support items for Win 98, and that was almost 10 years ago.
No one is saying you have to have Vista, if you don't like it, don't buy it.

Re: Vista is nothing but a screwed up XP

Travis, if you don't see Hibernation as an option in the dropdown list, then
it's already disabled. Did you use disk cleanup to remove the hibernation
file? If so, then it's disabled. Gone.

Re: Vista is nothing but a screwed up XP

No I didn't, I just don't like all the new features, the extra
unnecessary security.
I don't like that non of the 3rd party software work on Vista,
they all need updating.

> Now, if you don't like Vista, uninstall it,

I bought a hard drive for it, all I have to do is format it.
I am not that stupid, to install a beta over my OS.

> I am sure there will still be support for XP for a long time,

That is not the point.
The point is I hate to see Microsoft go down the drain
and ruin good operating systems such as XP and Win98,
and replace them with this pile of junk. Which means future
operating system going to be worse.
I don't want to list all the things I don't like about it, because
we will be arguing for ever.

You know this from first hand experience? Have you been to India? Have you
met any Indian programmers? I haven't been to India but I have met a few
Indian programmers. They seemed the same as other programmers to me. Some
were good, some weren't. Are Russian programmers also inferior? How about
Brazilian programmers?

Re: Vista is nothing but a screwed up XP

It has nothing to do where the person is from.
They lack the general knowledge and common sense
that we have.
India population is over one billion, and they haven't
accomplished 1/1000 of what we accomplished in the US.
If they were that good, then they would be way ahead of us.
