| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Search and Indexing Hello James, Disabling the "Windows Search" service will only disable the search Index. Vista will still be able to search for items using a non-index search instead. It takes a little bit longer since it's not using the index, but the search results will always be more accurate.
