Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: |

(It's not frosting on a cake, it's just filling tiny imperfections so that the surfaces meet fully). Remove excess from edges, remount. Reboot, run Asus Probe and watch temps. It looks like you are a gamer - that puts a heavy load on the CPU. I'll bet you are hitting some high temps. If they are still high, leave the case off and see if that helps. If it does, you need either more fans or more holes to let air in (usually the latter). If that doesn't do it, you might have CPU to memory issues. Try posting in the Asus mobo newsgroup for more specific advice on this mobo. |

| | Re: I upgraded My CPU Presuming you are correct about temperature issues, the processor/cooler are seated correctly, RAM is seated correctly etc: Check that the motherboard supports your new processor. With ASUS motherboards you should also check their user boards to see if anyone else has reported similar problems with that combination of mobo and processor. Alas, while ASUS makes generally high quality motherboards, there can be inexplicable glitches between certain processors and certain mobos that should be compatible and BIOS fixes do not correct. For example I have one machine with a late model AMD mobo that will not run any supposedly compatible X2 processor smoothly but works "phenomenally" with PhenomII, and many users on the ASUS support boards reported the same issue with that mobo. Make sure that your BIOS settings are generic and not overclocked in any way, shape or form for the proc or the ram. Software test the RAM. You may need to roll back or reinstall the BIOS: again my experience with recent ASUS mobos is that while they make upgrading the BIOS easy the new BIOS may not install completely or correctly, generating all kinds of stuttering or intermittent problems. Take out one of your videocards: SLI/Crossfire can cause all kinds of problems so make sure you can run one card stably before you try two. Inspect to make sure nothing is shorting out the mobo since you installed the new processor/cooler. If the settings are all correct and you cannot boot stably with one videocard try upgrading/reinstalling the motherboard drivers. One way to differentiate hardware and OS issues is to reinstall the OS on a spare drive in that machine, take out your current C drive first. Clearly if you can install a new copy of the OS and it runs smoothly something is amiss on your old one. |

| Vista 32bit | Re: I upgraded My CPU U might also check the 12 volt rail on your psu, some newer CPU's require a beefy 12 volt rail. Although your PSU may not be bad, it may just not push enough amps under load to keep system running. The reason it may run in safe mode is windows shuts down every process not needed which in turn lowers power usage... I had this problem with and AM2+ Asus Mobo. It just boils down to PSU output. I had get a PSU with a 26A 12 volt rail before this problem went away... |

| | RE: I upgraded My CPU Hi Wolfseven Recently before upgrade you might have installed a game that uses starforce copy protection which uses sfsync04.sys file. The step to remove this problem are: Open your computer in safe mode every time during steps 1) Schedule a diskcheck of your C drive by right clicking your c drive and going to tools and clicking diskcheck with both options enabled. it will ask to schedule a disk check which you should and restart your computer and next time let it check your hard drive partition. 2) Open msconfig (Start>Run>msconfig>enter) goto startup tab then look out for any file name having "star" or "sync" if there is any disable it by removing tick. Now go to services tab and click hide all microsoft services and then disable all services now shown. Click Apply and close. Now restart normally and i hope your problem will be long gone now.
