Download prob with IE8

Hi,

There is ALWAYS some new download prob on EVERY upgrade. this time it was an
upgrade to IE8.

A website that I download files regularly and had given me problem after an
upgrade to IE8 (I regret that decision. Why I keep up-to-date...sigh...).

To download a zip file on IE7, I would click on download link, when
finished, the Windows would prompt me to save the file. With IE8, the file
was saved to some "Temporary Internet Files" directory and sub-directory
"Content.IE5"...(IE5!!! What the?!), and then I have to do cut and paste (or
drag and drop) to move to a desired directory, surely, there is an easier
way???? What happened to old-fashioned promptng me when the file download is
completed as it was in IE7???

Thanx in advance,

L&L

When prompted to Save the file you click on Browse folders and pick the
folder you want to save the file into. Slightly different than previous
versions but otherwise saving downloads works just the same as every other
version of IE.

Re: Downloading Zip files

Thanx for replying.

Seems like the ONLY file type i have prob with is one with ".ZIP" extension
(and most of the files I download are of this file extention).

Actually, the last version (IE7) I used also have met same prob. i have
posted the question twice and nobody even able to attempt to answer it (you
can do a search on my previous questions). And in IE8, this ZIP file download
just got weirder...Has anybody has this zip file download prob???? Just a
side note, I had no prob with downloading zip file before IE7, however.

Is it because IE simply can't handle downloading ZIP file types?

It's like Jack Nicholson says to IE (played by Tom Cruise). You want zip
files? You can't handle the zip file!!!

Cheers,

L&L
