| | Transfer of programs I have just installed RC2 in a second partition. I ran the Vista migration wizard and transferred settings from my XP installation. This worked fine and all the icons in the quick launch bar were transferred. To my great surprise, when I clicked on them the programs ran OK. I had not reinstalled these programs on Vista and there is no sign of them in the Programs folder in Vista. Is this a minor miracle or has MS not told me about this feature! |

| | Re: Transfer of programs Almendros, All that is happening is Windows is putting a new shortcut pointing back to the executable. Bill F. | | Re: Transfer of programs Thanks Bill. What I dont understand is how it can run a program that has not been installed under Vista. Not all programs seem to "transfer" like this but Picasa, Firefox and Skype did. They run fine and there is no reference to them in Vista's program list. Picasa now has two complete indexes, one on Vista and one on Xp.
