Antivirus software for Windows Vista

Can someone suggest a good antivirus program for Windows Vista?

It is VERY important that the antivirus program does not consume a lot
of system resources and slow down the computer like Norton- or Norman
Antivirus does.

I also did read the post below but did'nt get any clear suggestion here:

What's unclear about trying either AVG or Avast?

Norton 360 ver 3 or NIS 2009 versions have far
better performance than previous versions.

You may want to consider downloading and testing
the trial version of 360:

and if you like it check Frys.com (check rebate terms)
for how to buy a 3 PC version for under $15.00

Re: Antivirus software for Windows Vista

I've used the free version of AVG and Avast and found them both to be good
at their job. AVG does, however, have a much more user friendly interface.

As Planters has already suggested NOD32 is also a good all rounder. I'm
currently running Eset's Smart Security which includes NOD32 on my Windows 7
system partition.

My experience is that Norton is really really sloooooooow from the
earlier versions. From that time I decided not to use Norton ever unless
it got alot less resource hungry. Soo I am not sure if I want to try
Norton yet...
