    copy files from DVD

I was copying my Adobe Creative Suite 4 DVD's to my hard drive for
backup. As with all my programs, I copy them from disk to harddrive
in order to keep a copy and easily install over network. The copy is
a simple windows explorer copy, no compression of any sort.

The process of transfering less than 4GB of disc 1 and 2 each take
more than an hour. I'm using vista 64bit with 12GB of ram, copying
    from an Asus 22x Burner (22BILT) to a WD 1TB 7200 RPM Sata 3.0 Gb/s
hard drive. I don't understand how long it takes to copy.

    Can anyone help with this?

    Thanks?
