win. Defender

Greetings,
After reinstalling McAfee av and a reboot,I got an error msg.Win.Defender
failed to initialize... #0x800106ba , I did a google on the #,and it said
to uninstall Defender and reinstall. I went to programs uninstall, but it is
not listed. I found the download page on ms. But, what do I do about the
uninstall? And do I need to have Def. turned on, while running McAfee?
Thanks,
Jim
