Windows cannot access...

I have one laptop with a strange problem. All of my networked (Ethernet,
not wireless) computers can see each other's disks, share printers, etc.
But the new one, named "Jackies-acer", cannot be viewed by any other
computer, and cannot view the others. They all are part of the @HOME
workgroup. It is Vista Home Premium all up-to-date w/2 gig memory. I
removed the password - no help. When I have it try to get to another
computer, it changes the name from "paul" to "jackies-acer\\paul" then
fails. Any help urgently needed. TIA, Paul

(It was my first hit when I Googled "workgroup names"):

Re: Windows cannot access...

But I've been using @home on all my Vista and XP computers for years.
Thanks
Paul

Re: Windows cannot access...

Then maybe it's time to change.
