Re: mozilla firefox shivering

You put the poor animal (fox) in such a horrible environment (vista) and you
ask why its shivering?

You must love animals, please place it in a happy Luna themed, XP
installation....

Re: mozilla firefox shivering

I have no problems with this, I'm on Vista RC1 (build 5600) with a Radeon
9800 pro. Have you tried installing graphics drivers???

Mine was shaking also but then i realized that the wife installed eQuake
Alert and By default your firefox browser will shake proportional to the
earthquake magnitude.

indeed installing the rc1 beta drivers from ati solved the issue
one would think the wdm drivers would be stable in 2d environment but
not suited for games for example

yet aero and all the features of it proved to be very stable using the
vista builtin drivers but they still are using the ati drivers
so we are just progressing here ^^

Re: mozilla firefox shivering

I had problems with this in 5728, and it just started doing that out of the
blue then. Don't bother trying the RC of Firefox 2 because it does this as
well as 1.5. I haven't experienced it with 5744 though. The shivering will
go away if you remove the bookmarks toolbar, but the funny thing is, when
you open Firefox the next time, the toolbar will come back. So your choices
are to remove the bookmarks toolbar each time you get on Firefox, or you
will have to go to Internet Explorer. : (

yeah, I reacted too soon
I don't have it with the bookmark toolbar or with any other bar but it
just pops up and disappears again when you go to the next website

I do see it happen whenever firefox informs there are missing plugins

Re: mozilla firefox shivering

Glad I could help. I find it strange that WDM drivers can't handle basic
things as well, but I guess that's something we'll have to put up with.

Re: mozilla firefox shivering

I believe that you can't disable bookmarks toolbar because of UAC. Try
disabling it and see what happens, I read somewhere that UAC prevents files
from writing to anywhere but your folders, so if it's saving somewhere else
for some strange reason beyond my knowledge, it could be blocked. For
example, a lot of people playing World of Warcraft can't use any mod files
that save data because UAC blocks the mod from saving to an alternate
directory...

Hope this helps.
