Routre Issue or Vista Issue

I happened to do a Speed test using Speakeasy and using my PC which is
Ethernet through my Linksys Router, It came up with 6,000kbps download.

Then my other PC is wireless through the same router came up with 3,500
kbps.

Is this normal for a wireless to connect so much slower or is it due to
Vista?

I haven't checked speeds with other O/S yet.

Gary

Re: Routre Issue or Vista Issue

Wireless is inherently slower due to data and security protocol overheads
and multiple wireless adapters sharing the radio bandwidth. There would be a
further reduction in xfer rates with each wireless node running on the
network. That doesn't take into account wireless devices attached to USB1
ports, which cannot transfer data any faster than the port itself can handle
(12mbitsps versus 400+mbps for USB2)
