Norton AntiVirus 2007 for Vista beta

Anyone beta testing this ? In the past 10 days I've gotten 2 emails
(beta releases) about it from Symantec. The second email told me to do
a fresh install /restore my PC to a point prior to the install of their
FIRST beta install. Luckily I hadn't yet installed the first one.
My question: is this typical with Symantec ? Do they expect me to wipe
my PC with each release ? That seems a bit much and if it's "normal" to
do a fresh install each week I guess I'll not install the new release
either.

Yes quite typical in my testing experience with them.

Yes.

My advice, don't install their software. There are far better alternatives
out there at much lower price points.

Re: Norton AntiVirus 2007 for Vista beta

I must say, we use sophos in our company, but I decided to take Windows Live
OneCare to the test on my Vista machine and I really like it. (it's free for
now) and it does not clog my machine while running/ moving/zipping/copying
VHD files.

Good luck

Eric

Bobb;
That sounds reasonable considering how difficult Norton products are to
thoroughly uninstall and remove.
Code left over from a previous Beta may corrupt the newer version and thus
taint whatever results you may get.
