Complete PC backup: C drive not there?

Hello,
I am trying to run the Complete PC backup (image) from my windpws Vista
Ultimate. When I get to Disks to be included it does not show the local c
drive? only my d drive. The C drive is a 1TB disk partitioned into 2 of 500GB
each.

Thanks,
Dan

RE: Complete PC backup: C drive not there?

Hi Dan,

Thank you for posting.

From your post, my understanding on this issue is: Windows Backup and
Restore Center doesn't show c driver as a include drive. If I'm off base,
please feel free to let me know.

Before moving on, could you please confirm the following points?

1. When the issue occurs? Did you backup C drive before?
2. Did you make any changes or install any software/hardware on the
computer recently?

Then, please take the following step to check if we can backup c drive in
command-line.

Example:

To create a backup of volumes c:, save it to volume d, type:

wbadmin start backup -backupTarget:d: -include:c:

NOTE: You must run wbadmin from an elevated command prompt.

For more information about wbadmin, please refer to the following links:

Wbadmin
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...15(WS.10).aspx

Wbadmin start backup
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc742083.aspx

Does it work?

However, in order to check if it is a UI bug, please help me collect a
screenshot of Disk Management. Thanks.

1. Click Start, type compmgmt.msc in Start Search bar, press enter.
2. In the console tree, click Disk Management. The Disk Management window
appears.
3. Press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard.
4. Click "Start", type "mspaint" in the Search Bar and Press Enter.
5. In the Paint program, click "Paste". Then click the "File" menu, and
select "Save".
6. The "Save As" dialogue box will appear. Choose ˇ°Save as JPEG
pictureˇ±.
7. Type a file name in the "File name:" box, for example: "screenshot1",
click "Desktop" on the left pane and then click "Save".

You can upload the screenshot file to Windows Live SkyDrive
(http://www.skydrive.live.com/) and share the URL with us.

Thank you for your cooperation. I am looking forward to your reply.

Thanks.

Best regards,
