Now, Here's Some Commentary Headed n'The "Right Direction"!!!

"Microsoft is always looking for ways to make money, so consider this idea:
Sell only bare-bones software, and all new features can only be sold as
plug-ins."

Ain't it increase the total cost of the OS?? if it's not then welcome!!!

anyway, this way only the exquisite will pay for the fancy stuff,
and the rest of the mortals will get just what we need, sounds like a real
deal to me!!!

That's just about what they're doing! MS had great plans for Vista but
removed
many features so they could get it out the door before Bill Gates is too old
to
remember what Vista is!

I think it'd be a goo idea to have along side the full OS's because then
custom users can have specifically what they want on their machine )

Well, seven (7) versions of Vista come close to that... isn't it?
As close as the market situation will allow for - and so many plug-ins
are free, at all!

Because NTFS is good enough, not to mention application compatibility and
Vista will include the Unix Subsystem in the Enterprise and Ultimate
Editions, so you are getting the best of both worlds.
