| | Emailing Pictures from Windows Explorer - Email button brings Outlook instead of Thunderbird Hi, Contact has a Vista business laptop that until recently when you went into Windows Explorer to look at pictures you can press the email button and it would prepare an email in their email client Mozilla Thunderbird with the image as a file attachment. However recently this has changed back to Microsoft Outlook for no particular reason. Checked all the defaults and they all point to Thunderbird still being the default program for email. Under file associations, have checked that for protocols, SENDTO is set to Thunderbird. However the "E-mail" button still now brings up Outlook. How can I change this back. It's very frustrating and I've played around for a good long while. Thanks in advance. |

When I email a picture from explorer I right click the image then select "send to" and then "mail recipient" which opens Thunderbird. Have you tried doing it that way? |

| | Re: Emailing Pictures from Windows Explorer - Email button brings Outlook instead of Thunderbird I recently upgraded from a Windows XP computer to one running Vista. Using Microsoft Vista and Thunderbord 2.0.0.22 I had he same problem as many of you describe above, right-clicking on a picture and choosing "send to mail recipient" would open up Microsoft Mail, despite the fact that Thunderbird is my default email program. An attempt to reinstall Tunderbird using the "default setup" did not change anything. Here is what worked for me: I had to reinstall Thunderbird 2.0.0.22 using the "custom installation" option in the setup program. Once I entered the custom installation menues I choose the default selections for all questions. Now right-clicking on a picture and selecting "mail to" opens Thunderbird as desired. -- Kurt ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kurt's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/114098.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-help/1203792.htm http://forums.techarena.in |
