Anti Virus Program

Just removed the Windows virus software and am after a free version of AVP
that works with Vista . I will be using NOD32 once they get their version
available and working but now anyone with recommendations ?

Avast 4.7 Home Edition is free and compatible. You need to register for a
serial number.

Grisoft have just released AVG 7.5 and works fine on Vista RC1 5600 and
RC2 5744

That's x86 versions, I haven't tried it on the x64 versions yet.

AVG installs but the RESIDENT SHIELD does not come on, how can I get mine to
work ?

Will,

What AV Software? One Care?

Windows Vista does not ship default with an Antivirus product.

Yes it was one care which has now been removed. Anyway am trying avast this
time
