| Member | DEP problem! help me!!! Hello I turned DEP off by reading the vistax64 forum. when i rebooted, a big problem raised. windows vista ( home premium ) crashed to continue. i selected safe mode and other F8 choices...but still problem is there. then I used Vista DVD to repair startup...problem not solved. I used system restore...but not worked. DELL company gived a choice to me...it sets all required windows vista files and folders on my another drive...how can i boot it ? ![]() if i do it, so i can keep avoid my files and downloaded programs ( .exe ) from failed windows ( c:\ ) . ![]() your forum website is best ![]() thank you Arsham Farahani |

| Administrator | Re: DEP problem! help me!!! Hello Arsham, You might see if booting to the command prompt from your Vista installation DVD, then enabling DEP again may help. OPTION TWO in the link below will help show you how to boot into the command prompt if needed. Command Prompt at Startup If you do the "Restore the computer's software to the original condition" option from Dell, then it will format your hard drive and restore Vista back to factory default like the day you first got it. It should fix your porblem, but it will wipe out all of your files though. I would do the ones in the link that I posted above. ![]() Bootmgr is missing bootrec /fixmbr (your dvdrom drive letter):\boot\bootsect.exe /nt60 all /force del C:\boot\bcd bootrec /rebuildbcd Close cmd prompt, remove dvd, Reboot. which command is useful for activing boot files of drive d:\ ?
