Vista - Hiding IP Address

I know this is not Vista related but you guys seen to know your crap.

Is there a free application that hides your IP address while on the the
internet? I remember Zone Alarm doing this.

The closest you can get is using a proxy server to forward back and forth
your requests. But other than that if you open any connection to any client
or server on the internet, they'll know your IP address, else they wouldn't
know where to send the reply.

You can use an IP Spoofer. Do a search for it. though, I woudn't advise it.
for personal protection, I have a router with an IP roller, but if you are
using programs like E-mule that require forwarded ports from your router,
this could cause issue.
Bottom like is this, your main IP address is given to you by your ISP. Kinda
hard to hide. if someone really wants to know where you have been, they can
find out. No ammount of security or programs can counter that.
If you are truly worried about someone finding out where you have been, I
would advise you ro re-think where you are going.

IP Rolling is an older router security function that would roll IP addresses
of it's remost stations, creating un-predictibility that would fool hackers.
Every time a computer would log off, or at certain intervals, the IP would be
switched to a random address, still within the router's system, but changed
IP which would, in theory, fool programs that feed on port vulnerabilities.
That is the understnading I have, but I am no computer expert. Please don't
take this as law. It is an older router.
