| | Re: router connection From Windows Help: What happened to HyperTerminal? HyperTerminal is no longer part of Windows. However, you can use Telnet. It's a simple, text-based program that you can use to connect to another computer over the Internet. If you previously used HyperTerminal to troubleshoot modem problems, use Phone and Modem Options instead: ============ By default, Telnet is not installed with Windows, but you can install it by following the steps below. To install Telnet Client Click the Start button , click Control Panel, click Programs, and then click Turn Windows features on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. In the Windows Features dialog box, select the Telnet Client check box. Click OK. The installation might take several minutes. -Mike P.S. Most routers now-a-days can be accesed via http://192.168.0.1 of whatever IP you have assigned to it. | | Re: router connection Yeah, I just installed telnet and it works fine. My router doesn't support it but I did connect to and use a telnet server on the web. Are you using an administrator account? Also, I'm using RC2; I can't tell you if it works in earlier builds. -Mike "chriske911" <chriske911nospam@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:mn.b5327d6ae90222e3.52299@yahoo.com... > **__MIke__** formulated the question : >> From Windows Help: > >> What happened to HyperTerminal? > >> HyperTerminal is no longer part of Windows.
