Vista - Folders don't expand in Explorer view like they do in XP

When I'm running Windows Explorer and (single) click on a folder name in the
nav panel, the contents are displayed properly in the other panel BUT the
folder doesn't expand in the nav panel like it does with XP. To force it to
expand I have to click the '+' sign next to it.

Is there someway I can make Explorer behave like it does in XP? Am I missing
a setting somewhere?

Control Panel >Folder Options (you may need to switch View by" at the right
top to "Large icons" to see it).

In the Navigation section under the General tab check the "Automatically
expand to current folder" checkbox. You might also check "Show all folders"
while you are at it. Click any OKs and start an Explorer window.

In Vista just like in WindowsXp you goto Tools-->Folder
Options-->View-->CHECK THIS CHECKBOX:
"DISPLAY SIMPLE FOLDER VIEW IN NAVIGATION PANE".

Close WinExplorer and restart it, now folders will auto-expand as you click
on them.
By the way, my preference is directly opposite - keep that option disabled
and expand oflders when I need, not when system wants (i.e. not always).

This is a complete solution and it's darn simple.

I already tried this but folders still don't auto-expand. It's double-click
or nothing which is very confusing because I have single-click enabled!. But
I'll keep looking. There must be some other setting coming into play here,
don't you think?
