| | Computer Management - Disk Management... Vista Home Premium 64bit SP1.... When I try to get into Storage -> Disk Management, it just sits there. At the bottom it says "Connecting to Virtual Disk Service".. I see NO disks listed, not even C:... Ideas? |

Anyway while I have your attention, how can I change the drive letter of a memory card slot? My PC has a few different slots for memory cards and one of them is now mapped to a letter that I used for a USB external drive. This card slot and the others do not show up in Disk Management. Also, I've had this PC for over a year and haven't had the need to actually use these slots. My video cameras are USB and I don't use the optional memory cards. Anyway this was related to a problem I was having with Norton Ghost and backing up my C: drive. I was using an external USB drive as my backup device. It was mapped to J:. The drive died on me (motherboard fried). I purchased a new external USB drive. The OS mapped it to K: and then assigned J: to the memory slot. I could not get Ghost working as it kept referencing the old J: backup device. I uninstalled and re-installed Ghost and now I'm using K: as the backup device. Still, I'm wondering how to change the memory slot mapping..... Thanks, Ray |
