| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Can't find apply button When setting up e-mail I click on tools, then options. The screen is too large and the apply button can't be seen. The bottom of screen can't be seen. How do I make the screen smaller so the apply button will be exposed? |

To change the resolution: Start>Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization. Click Personalization and then click Display Settings. Under Resolution, move the slider to the correct size. If you have a laptop or a flat panel monitor, use its native resolution. Your laptop's native resolution will be in the documentation that came with your computer (which may be in a file on the hard drive) and will also be on the computer mftr.'s tech support site for your model. Your monitor's native resolution will be in the documentation that came with the monitor and sometimes on the clear plastic protective sheet that came covering the screen. Mine follows the top of the WindowsMail window, so have you got that positioned as high up the screen as you can safely go ? If not then drag it up some but if you already have then it sound as though you need to set a higher screen resolution. ( Personalise > Display settings ) Or are you having a chuckle ? Tom |

| | Re: Can't find apply button On most program dialog boxes, OK is the default button so if you hit Enter that will usually save your settings. As for making the screen "smaller" get a larger monitor or adjust display properties. "Winfield" <guest@xxxxxx-email.com> wrote in message news:21a925a6884b629fe3d9f44cb45f1ec2@xxxxxx-gateway.com... | Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Can't find apply button What my Dad is talking about is in Outlook express he clicks on options and changes somethings, but he can't click apply for the changes to take place. Hitting enter does not work, there is no minimum or maximum button, there is no way to "move" the page because it is all the way at the top, there is no scroll button and putting the mouse over the corners of the page to shrink it does not work either. Changing the screen resolution does not work either. I am going to have him try using the tab button to get to apply, but the problem is you can't see the apply button so for now we will count, but there has to be a way to reduce the size of the page... Thanks in advance for all your replys. |

Try asking about your problem in an Outlook Express group where those experts hang out: microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Can't find apply button He has outlook express and vista on his dell laptop and its not that we can't find the apply button, we know where it is, we just can't see it to click on it. But never mind that, forget its outlook express - want we want to know is how to make a page smaller that doesn't let us there is no minimum or maximum button, there is no way to "move" the page because it is all the way at the top and you can't see the bottom, there is no scroll button on the side and putting the mouse over the corners of the page to shrink it does not work either. Changing the screen resolution does not work either. The problem is you can't see the bottom of the page where the cancel and apply buttons are. There has to be a way to reduce the size of the page... |

Although your comments in this thread don't fit that pattern, it might possibly be the problem... Meanwhile, you have never answered the question about his screen resolution. If he has a netbook, for example, maybe the screen is just not big enough (in pixels, I mean) to show the whole dialog. -- Gene E. Bloch letters0x40blochg0x2Ecom |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Can't find apply button Thanks for all of your help - being able to get to the apply button by using tab allowed him to save his changes, even though he can't see the apply button. FYI - he doesn't have a netbook, its a 15" screen and Outlook vs outlook express vs microsoft outlook - with vista, windows xp, windows 2000, etc. all with comcast - I have set them up for many people the same way, so I am sorry if I called it the "wrong" name in vista. Thanks again for all your help! He is happy and his computer seems to be doing what he wants. |
