| | Re: install XP after Vista on same partition No, you need to create a separate partition for WindowsXP. I even have 2 partitions for a single OS (Vista Ultimate), not to mention 2 OS's. They separate expensive CAD softwares from OS and less expensive/regular applications. The former one is finicky and eats teremendous hardware resources and I just wanted isolation. In your case it's not even a matter of convenience, it's a requirement - do create 2 partitions. Modern partitioning tools allow dynamic partitions so no need to wipe disk, repartition and reinstall Vista+XP; instead you can bite/squeeze a new partition out of an exisiting (maximum size) one by reducing that existing to smaller size. |
