USB Flash Drive

Vista RC2, 1GB RAM
I purchased a 1GB HIGH SPEED Memorex USB flash drive mainly to use it for
Ready Boost. Vista recognizes it properly. I can read/write to it. But it
fails the Reeady Boost test. It came in FAT format. I changed the policy in
the device manager to optimize performance. Still It fails the Ready Boost
test.I reformatted the USB flash drive to NTFS. Still it fails the Ready
Boost test. I need your help to make it support Ready Boost.

It took just about 10 secs to write 50MB file. I do not see it being slow. Can I do something else to make it support Ready Boost.

Re: USB Flash Drive

There is a registry hack that forces Vista to use a USB flash drive but you
may not see a speed increase. Some say you may see a speed decrease. Anyway,
that's for you to judge.

Here is an article explaining how to do the hack:

Hope this helps,
