Time out to welcome screen while watching video

Hi-

I'm hoping someone else has a solution to a very annoying issue.

After about 5 mins of watching streaming video on my computer using internet explorer, my computer automatically "times out" and goes to the vista login page (welcome screen). I then have to get up and enter my password each time to resume the movie. The only way to avoid this from happening to interact with the PC (ie move the mouse or hit a key)

I've tried changing the power and screen saver settings with no luck. I've also tried searching for the answers on the internet, but again no luck. I have no issues watching DVDs with out the time out to the welcome screen.

I appreciate any help as this is seriously impacting being able to watch anything.

I am using the following:

-HP Pavilion dv4 media laptop
-Windows Vista 64 bit Home Edition Premium
-Internet Explorer 7
-Adobe Flash 10

I have also updated my software and drivers from HP, Microsoft and Adobe.

Thanks in advance

Luis

Re: Time out to welcome screen while watching video

Are using Windows Media Player? If yes, check the options for "allow
screensaver during playback", and uncheck. If you are using another media
player, you will have to see if it has a similar option.

Re: Time out to welcome screen while watching video

Thanks for the reply. I am not using windows media player, however I checked and that box is unmarked anyway.

This weekend I tried on a friends PC with vista and it had no problems viewing the streaming video without timing out/interuptions.

It like my PC is waiting for me to interact with it or else it will go to the welcome screen.

I appreciate any suggestions.
