| Guest | OT-MSFT servers(ng's and Office 2007) is this a glimpse of SPP? Hi, i know this is OT,but at least in here; you guys respond!!!-LOL-- (I may not agree;but; at least get a response) Anyone have any info; about; #1 - Office 2007 activation servers being down? After reinstalling 5744;and Office 2007; Office activation times out-connection error. Been going on for 2 days. #2 Seems the ng servers are taking hits too; had threads I was following; and now after being away for awhile; they've all disapeared. (No Chad; not me being censored--LOL-- at least I think) LOL Any info? from anyone? Reduced functionality;through no fault of your own. It's happening in Office 2007 as I type; so whatcha think will happen with SPP and Vista? Jeff |

| Guest | Re: OT-MSFT servers(ng's and Office 2007) is this a glimpse of SPP? I think it is because The Microsoft Office 2007 Private Beta is supposed to be over now, and they are De-Activating not only Microsoft Beta Place, but also the Microsoft Office 2007 Beta Download and Activation Servers, and well as the Microsoft Office 2007 Private Beta Newsgroups. | Guest | Re: OT-MSFT servers(ng's and Office 2007) is this a glimpse of SPP? This is a glimpse of a beta program in action. There are always minor outages, "service unavailable" periods, and lots of other noise and artifacts in beta projects that don't make it to the prime-time release of the software and/or the support services. Specifically: 1. To the best of my knowledge the activation servers are back and working 2. This is not uncommon when one or more newsgroup servers in a farm fail - the process of re-synchronizing them often causes messages or threads to "vanish". Re-setting the local newsgroup file (if using OE or another NTP client) usually causes the missing messages/threads to re-appear. -- Richard G.
