Shortcut arrow size

I would like the shorcut arrows of the desktop icons to be smaller.
Is there any registry value that can be modified?
I could not find any option in all the menues of Vista.

RE: Shortcut arrow size

In Vista, I don't think there's an option to change it. If your feeling
adventurous, try

http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.ph...owtopic=499870

Scroll down to "Remove the arrow (Shortcut Overlay) without side effects",
on that page.

Hope this helps,
Dean

RE: Shortcut arrow size

Dean-Dean:
Thanks for the tip.
I'm not feeling that adventurous today and I'd like to keep a small arrow
instead of no arrow.
I will keep waiting for TweakUI for Vista (will it ever exist?).
The tutorial about the arrow in your link was quite enlightening.

RE: Shortcut arrow size

Hi Carlos,
I have used the tweak from neowin.net and it works fine in RC2. The small
arrow that he created is very small but I like it better than the normal
shortcut arrow.

RE: Shortcut arrow size

The "little arrow" fix is here:

http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.ph...87952521&st=0&

Not feeling that adventurous myself, I can't report how it works. I'd be
surpised if there wasn't going to be a Tweakui for Vista. The small arrow
still resides in shell32.dll in Vista, as it did in XP, but I have no idea
how the overlay is done. (The big one is in imageres.dll).
