| Vista Ultimate x64 | Vista Registry and Microsoft Optical Mouse I have a Microsoft optical mouse. It's a couple of years old and I'm trying to determine whether it's faulty or not. The problem seems to be with the scroll wheel. When on a webpage and using the wheel to scroll, often the page will continue to scroll (only another 50 or so pixels) after I've released the mouse. It seems to be at least a full second or two after I've finished scrolling, let go of the mouse then the page continues to scroll (only by one increment/decrement). It doesn't seem to be the wheel clicking into place either, as I first thought. I'm trying to find out if anyone else has experienced this and/or whether it could be a registry setting or something else causing this. Otherwise, it's a hardware issue. Thanks for any advice/assistance. Steve. |

Replace it. 2. If the problem doesn't go away, update your video card drivers. Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic! http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/#FAQ |

I suspect that I accidentally hit something: the control key, or the mouse center button (i.e., I accidentally click the wheel as well as rotating it), or whatever... -- Gene Bloch 650.366.4267 lettersatblochg.com |
