Vista EULA

Is this story accurate:

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/10...eula_analysis/

My issue is that I don't buy ready built PC's. I upgrade my own as
part get badly outdated or break.

So when I change my motherboard on my main PC (next year), I'll keep
the HD's DVD/CD for instance, but I'll have new MB, Memory and Video.

I'll end up selling/trading the MB etc at a computer fair, but the
Software obviously stays with me.

Worse, suppose sometime someone gets a fried system, and they have to
reinstall on new kit?

Or am I worried over nothing?

Re: Vista EULA

Hi,

A fair and objective article, and you're not worried over nothing and many
share the same concern!

But the king and his knights (many don't bother to read EULA) will be using
one or a combination of the following for defense:

(1) anyone has any concern about it is a supporter and/or user of pirated
products,

(2) anyone has any doubt about it is a MS hater,

(3) anyone disagree with EULA appears don't understand how market economy
should work,

(4) anyone can't accept the license also don't like Vista.

Sounds familiar? Fortunately, even a 5th grader knows more than that

Let's wait patiently for the "final" version, if any.

Probably will count as your one transfer.

In the past Microsoft has not counted defective boards as a transfer.
Could, if it got abused, but probably won't

I read somewhere official that you're allowed 10 transfers in the RTM....

Re: Vista EULA

Don't confuse transfers with 'activations'. Word is that there will be a
limit of 10 activations. One transfer to a new computer (mobo)
