Vista - i cant play games please help!

Everytime i try playing a game the game stops working after about two
seconds and i get this message: A problem caused the program to stop
working correctly windows will close the program and notify you if a
solution is available. and then the game just stops working ive tried
other games also and ive never had this problem i just havnt been on my
comp for a while and now this is happening.

Computer specs:
Acer
ATI Radeon 4650
im not sure about the rest sorry and any help would be much
appreciated.

What kind of games? Graphically demanding high-intensity 3D games, multi-
player games, or small 2D games like the ones found on Yahoo or MSN Games?
Give names of the games. If this only happens with online games, how do you
connect to the Internet?

Desktop or laptop? Version and Service Pack level of Vista?

Any clues in Event Viewer?

between the time things worked and the time they didn't?

Did you purchase or pirate the game? You didn't specify if it happened with
other games. Your video card should be fine handling most of the newer
games, but you didn't say what processor or the amount of memory you have.
Try giving more information.
