| Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP2 | HP Pavilion Elite M9350F Hey guys, I've been reading through the forum for the last couple of weeks and am really impressed with the knowledge and dedication of the members; much prop's! c(^^,)c I've been having issues with my PC since the first couple of weeks after purchase. It seems I have spent an endless amount of time trying to explain, and moreover, trying to find a solution to my problem with a myriad of HP technicians on the phone and internet. I even spent $60 for their "Smart Friend" service, to which was a complete disappointment; considering I felt I knew more about computers than the technicians I spoke with. Hence, I have come to the conclusion that the best option I have left is this forum... My problem is recurring performance issues with Vista. It seems every time I download an update for Windows, my computer poop's out. I have also been getting occasional blue screens... Have you guys ever heard of a compatibility issue with this computer and Vista? Any suggestions to a possible solution to my problem would be greatly appreciated! I know my symptoms seem a bit vague; so I would be more than willing to supply more information. Here is some basic system information for a start: OS Name: Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Premium Version: 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Build 6002 Other OS Description: Not Available OS Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation System Name: CKURRY-PC System Manufacturer: HP-Pavilion System Model: KQ498AA-ABA m9350f System Type: x64-based PC Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) 9850 Quad-Core Processor, 2500 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s): BIOS Version/Date: American Megatrends Inc. 5.29, 4/28/2009 SMBIOS Version: 2.5 Windows Directory: C:\Windows System Directory: C:\Windows\system32 Boot Device: \Device\HarddiskVolume1 Locale: United States Hardware Abstraction Layer: Version = "6.0.6002.18005" User Name: CKurry-PC\CKurry Time Zone: Pacific Daylight Time Installed Physical Memory (RAM): 6.00 GB Total Physical Memory: 6.00 GB Available Physical Memory: 4.16 GB Total Virtual Memory: 12.1 GB Available Virtual Memory: 9.74 GB Page File Space: 6.29 GB Page File: C:\pagefile.sys Last edited by Americano; 08-27-2009 at 01:49 AM.. |

| | Re: HP Pavilion Elite M9350F In Control Panel choose Problem Reports and Solutions (type problem in Start's searchbox), right click your error and choose Check For Solution. You can also examine the details. In Administrative Tools choose Reliability and Performance Monitor and choose Reliability Monitor (type Reliability in search on Start). This list a chart of software installs, uninstalls, Windows updates, and crashes. See if your crashes started happening after you installed or uninstalled something. Are all the crashes the same or different. If different try Have you run memory diagnostic (Control Panel in classic mode - Administrative Tools - Memory Diagnostic Tool) also chkdsk c: /r in a command prompt. Then sfc /scannow -- .. -- "Americano" <guest@xxxxxx-email.com> wrote in message news:7ec269edf769cef0f81b1afee68a12b4@xxxxxx-gateway.com...
