| | Vista Media Center Display Problems Hey all, I have Vista Beta 2 installed and working great on an AMD machine with an ATI x700 PCI-e video card. It is plugged into my big screen and looks great. The problem is when I run Media Center. The display changes to a smaller box in the top left and freezes. It is still working, as I can hear things move when I use the remote. It will even refresh the screen if I alt-tab out and back in, but as soon as I go back in it is frozen again... Any suggestions? Thanks! |

| | Re: Vista Media Center Display Problems Could it be a RAM thing? Have you got anything else running, and how fast is your computer? If you can give a spec., that'd be useful. Just when things freeze, usually (here anyway) it's down to lack of system resources. Check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) whilst you're in Media Center (when the problem occurs) and see what your Pagefile and CPU is like )-- Zack Whittaker » ZackNET Enterprises: www.zacknet.co.uk » MSBlog on ResDev: www.msblog.org » Vista Knowledge Base: www.vistabase.co.uk » This mailing is provided "as is" with no warranties, and confers no rights. | | Re: Vista Media Center Display Problems I have a Gig of RAM. The computer does not freeze, only the Media Center window display. Everything else works. I can alt-tab out of it. Even Media Center IS working. I can re-fresh its display by atl-tab out and back in to see that using the remote has changed things. | | Re: Vista Media Center Display Problems You were right on the money! I had selected rear projection and let it use the default which was 480i. Only, I had it plugged in through s-video. I switched resolutions and that worked. Then I plugged in via HD and went back to 480i and that worked as well. Thanks!
