Another WindowsMail question

WindowsMail keeps trying to compress the messages but cannot. I keep getting
the "other ap using the application" or something similar. How do I
compact the messages? Nothing else was using the mail program.

Apparently you have to go offline before closing to get that
compress option to run.
File > Work offline.

Thank you. How do I bring it up (the compress messages thing) and get it to
run after File/WorkOffline is chosen?

'Compact the database on shutdown every xx runs'.
If you are hoping to get rid of the "Recovered items" folders that keep
appearing it wont work.
I keep deleting these folders but they always return.
When I first noticed them I thought it was because I upgraded to Windows 7
from Vista, but I did a clean install of Windows 7 and then Windows Live Mail
and I still get 'recovered' folders appearing.

I haven't seen a "Recovered Items" folder anywhere. I wanted to get rid of
the constant "Windows can't compact messages" error.

What folders are you talking about?

I haven't seen anything like that.

Have a look here, in Live Mail:
View > Layout, select 'Folder Pane'.
Select ' Show Storage folders '.
In the left pane click on Storage Folders to drop the list.
Open out ' Recovered items '.
I have a list of dated folders and messages but have no clue as to why they need to be
recovered. I never get any notification about corrupt messages or whatever.
After I delete them they gradually get re-written with more random newsgroup messages.
