Vista and Suse - peaceful co-existence?

The Microsoft, Novell ink pact:

"As part of the agreement, Microsoft also promises not to wield its
patent portfolio against SUSE Linux."

A new era?

Re: Vista and Suse - peaceful co-existence?

I suspect the key areas was ip protection and virtualization plus first
choice recommendation by Microsoft in Windows networks if a Company decides
to implement Linux.

Re: Vista and Suse - peaceful co-existence?

Speaking of virtualization, could be that Linux will actually come bundled
with Windows inside a VPC session as a free add-on to the Longhorn Server
right alongside IIS et al? Fun to speculate.

Why wait? Linux is already free. Install VMware Player and download one of
the dozen or so already-configured Linux machines from the appliances page.

Re: Vista and Suse - peaceful co-existence?

Yes I know. No waiting here; been doing virtualization w/ VMWare and Linux
for at least five or six years. Linux has always been free. The question is
whether Microsoft is doing it.
