help with virus protection and dual core amd 4400

ok when i fist installed vista rc1 i was running amd 3200 64 and i intsalled
the beta of pc cillin. ok now it worked ok dii all the things it had to do ,
since then i have updated my cpu to amd dual core 4400 64 now my system
crashed so i reinstalled vista all working ok when i went to install pc
cillin again i fing that when it was installed my pcu was running at 100% so
then i did a system restore to before the pc cillin install pc running fine .
i went and updated pc cillin to a new ver and i get the same thing ,, nothing
else i install runs the cpu at 100% even when installing any othe exe i am
lucky to got over 60%
so what i need help with is why dose it so this when pc cillin says it is
64 bit software
and dose anyone know of a virus proctection that will run with vista and a
dula core amd ??

People have reported issues with that AV on Vista x64, I would recommend
trying something.

hey andre
have looked for something elas ,, nothing on the microsoft site has any
64 bit plus looked at others on line still no joy with 64 bit ,, any ideas ??

Supposedly the next version of OneCare will work under Vista x64.

Until then the only package I've seen works well with Vista x64, is the
Symantec stuff which is still in EARLY beta.

Windows Live OneCare 1.5, only supports Vista x86 at the moment. Nic, have
you checked Avast! to see if they have anything. I just got in the Symantec
Beta yesterday, so I haven't been able to download and try their products on
Vista x64. But I am sure once Vista RTMs, there will be a plethora of AV
utilities on market to support both platforms.

I have not been able to load McAfee, the one that comes with Comcast
subscription. I figure it's not Vista ready. Other than that, Vista has been
the smoothest beta I have ever tested; I've tested all since W95.
