| Vista Home Premium x64 | recovery disc vista can someone tell what the recovery disc that keeps filling up on my new dell vista is for ? when i try to access its contents it appears empty. |

The instructions for your computer said you should create restore disks (and tells you how) and put them in a safe place. If the hard drive crashes, and they do frequently, the restore partition will also die and that is the reason for the recovery disks. Now, if something is saving information to the restore partition (normally about 10 GB or so in size) you need to find out what is saving there and stop it and redirect the save to some where else. Nothing should be saved to the recovery partition. |

If it is, uncheck it the box for that drive to turn it off. System Restore Hope this helps, Shawn |
