| | Can't open Excel 2007 with double click I repaired and uninstalled then installed Office 2007. I opened Excel up and search for my Excel Spread Sheet and open it and then save as on my desktop like I always do. Then when I double click on the Icon I get "Windows can not find C:\User etc. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. Any excel spreadsheet I have I get the same message when I double click on it. I check the path and it is correct. |

| | Re: Can't open Excel 2007 with double click Something seems gone wrong with registry, or some viral attack. I suggest below options. 1. Right click > Properties, select Open with Application (select EXCEL.EXE from Programming files\Microsoft Office\...) Or 2. Remove and re-install MS Office. It should create a desktop icon with the proper "Target" and "Start in" paths. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Can't open Excel 2007 with double click Its not viral or registry issue. Go to this help URL. Excel opens without displaying a workbook Has something to do with "ignore other applications" The shame of this is that I searched and found dozens having the same issue but garbage replies on what is wrong. |
