Remote PC

In windows Vista I allowed use remote PC from other PC. however when I go to
other PC and try to locate in network PC which allows remote control I do
not see any available PC. What kind of security setting or policy I need to
change.

I think the next question is similar. I allowed to write in folder. However
when I try I get error.

Re: Remote PC

Hi,

Click the start button and type firewall, then open the Windows Firewall.
Click to allow program through the firewall and ensure that remote desktop
is enabled in the exceptions.

Re: Remote PC

I see Remote Desktop (Tcp-in) in inbounds rules. I enabled this rule. But
still when I try to locate remote PC it responds that no terminal service is
running in network. I checked in the list of services that terminal service
is runing on Vista PC. Also there is section Connection security rules, but
I am not sure if I need to add there something.

Re: Remote PC

You went into the advanced firewall, you should only need to go to the
standard settings to check exceptions (it should be the second listing when
you type firewall into the search box).

Re: Remote PC

It was a very good exercise. But from this point of view everything looks
OK. But i think should be something else. Because the question is about
terminal service. Probably the reason is the same why I do not see IIS from
other PC.

In help I found that in Vista starter I cannot expose remote PC. however
when I check type of system it responded Vista ultimate. This is also
important question. Because when it is time to buy i will need right choice.
I looking for system which will have IIS and remote connection.

Thank you, Aleks Kleyn

Re: Remote PC, new question

I finally succeded to use remote PC. Instead of searching in network PC
which provides remote PC, I used IP address PC with win Vista.

However this created new questions. When user B initiated connection to
remote PC, user A working on that PC got message which said that user B
wants to connect to this PC and user A should make logof or user B will not
able to connect.

How I can allow to work on remote PC to work at least 2 users like it is
done on win NT.
Thank you, Aleks Kleyn

Re: Remote PC, new question

Hi,

You can't with this version of Windows, you need a server version to have
multiple active logons.
