As soon as Vista goes Gold, the Beta will end.

As soon as Vista goes Gold, all Vista Beta activity will end. That means,
even though the Beta will still run, there will be no more updates through
Windows Update. No place to send bug reports. The Vista Tech Beta is
shutting down. No need for Vista Beta Newsgroups, etc.

Re: As soon as Vista goes Gold, the Beta will end.

Thing is, this isn't a beta newsgroup, to my knowledge ..

It's just microsoft.public.windows.vista.general , the general windows vista
public microsoft forum..

Well, yeah - what'd you expect to happen? The point of a beta is to provide
feedback to help mold the final product. Once the final, or gold, build is
reached, there is no more need for input to help shape it. Feedback then
shifts to functionality changes in future service packs or the next version
of the operating system.

Re: As soon as Vista goes Gold, the Beta will end.

The people in this Newsgroup will still be asking for help, wanting to know
why there are no more updates, will still want to know where to send bug
reports, how to get a key, etc. I simply stated that all of this is about to
end.

Re: As soon as Vista goes Gold, the Beta will end.

Actually that isn't true at all.

There will be Vista Beta Newsgroups and still places to fill bug reports.

Where is your documentation for this?

Re: As soon as Vista goes Gold, the Beta will end.

The Tech Beta is moving on to Longhorn Server.

Re: As soon as Vista goes Gold, the Beta will end.

The Vista Beta Newsgroups (the private ones anyways) will continue along for
a bit longer according to Microsoft.
