| | So there is no way to downgrade vista to xp??? Im posting this to know for sure that i cannot get xp back..ive been reading alot and doesnt seem like vista suites me. I just ordered a computer from dell and got an express upgrade to vista from xp which now i regret doing incase i don't like it or don't want it and the computer should be here tomorow sometime. I hope I get a disk for xp to re-install or something. Please let me know if there is a way to just have xp and not vista. (Don't worry im not putting down vista, and i can't anyhow because i havn't tried it yet but i like xp alot ) |

| | Re: So there is no way to downgrade vista to xp??? The computer does not come preloaded with Vista, its basically a coupon that guarantees you a free upgrade to a specific edition of Vista depending on which edition of XP that comes preloaded on your PC. If its XP Home - the coupon will qualify for Vista Home Basic, if its XP MCE, you qualify for Vista Home Premium with some additional charges, I think $45 to $70. -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!E8E5CC039D51E3DB!9709.entry "scott42" <scott42.2gvtep@no-mx.vista64.net> wrote in message news:scott42.2gvtep@no-mx.vista64.net... > > Im posting this to know for sure that i cannot get xp back..ive been > reading alot and doesnt seem like vista suites me. | | Re: So there is no way to downgrade vista to xp??? You should be able to request/order the XP CD from Dell, if you didn't already. Was there an option (and did you take it) for "media" with XP? There probably won't be much of a "downgrade" besides wiping out and re-installing, however. | | Re: So there is no way to downgrade vista to xp??? You can't downgrade non destructively. You will need to perform a clean install of XP to revert back. -- Harry Ohrn MS MVP [Shell/User] "irelandsown" <irelandsown@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:CA0F2DC6-56B4-4E84-892B-99F37A5DD7DC@microsoft.com... > > is three any possible way to downgrade to xp from vista if so please reply > many thanks. |
