Re: Send to Desktop

Copy this file:

C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo\Desktop (create
shortcut)

and Paste it into this folder:

C:\Users\(YOUR ACCOUNT NAME)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

These paths are normally hidden, so you'll have have Windows show hidden
files.

Re: Send to Desktop

Hi Ron,

Desktop (create shortcut) is actually Desktop (create shortcut).DeskLink,
with the .DeskLink extension being "super-hidden" by Windows. So, unlike
regular shortcuts, the option to change its icon isn't possible. What you
can do, however, is go to

C:\Users\(YOUR ACCOUNT NAME)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

and right-click on the file Desktop (create shortcut), and choose Create
Shortcut. Then, right-click on the "original" Desktop (create shortcut) and
change its properties to hidden (Apply>OK), so that you don't have two
Desktop (create shortcut)'s in your context menu. Then rename "Desktop
(create shortcut) - Shortcut" to "Desktop (create shortcut)". You can now
change the icon to this new file, because its a normal shortcut.
