Does VirtualPC work?

Does VirtualPC 5.3 work on Vista? I've read version 2004 doesn't work.

Thanks,
Brett

The Beta of VirtualPC 2007 works fine on Vista at least...

I would not expect it to work on Vista as it even has problems with DEP in
XP SP2. VPC 2007 is currently in beta and works on Vista.

Re: Does VirtualPC work?

You should sign up for the beta of Virtual PC 2007. that runs fine on Vista.

Re: Does VirtualPC work?

I find VMware Workstation still works better than VirtualPC 2007. Now VPC
2007 is an improvement on 2004, but it is still behind and does not support
Linux as VMware does.

Re: Does VirtualPC work?

Thanks John. I will be remoting into a Vista machine from XP. If the Vista
machine has about 3.5GB RAM of programs (servers mostly) loaded into memory
and my XP machine only has 1GB of RAM, I should be fine right? In other
words, the amount loaded on the Vista machine should have no affect on the
XP machine.

Re: Does VirtualPC work?

I agree. VMware also has USB support.

That is correct.

As for VPC, Enterprise and Ultimate Vista editions will have Virtual PC
Express built in. Not sure what is relationship between Express and 2007
though.
