Start menu links issue.

Hello.
I have a bizzare problem here.
Today I installed Corel X creative suite.
After the installation, when browsing the start menu/programs/corel x I
noticed that the Corel Draw application has no icon and cant be
launched. I right clicked it and chose the option "Open With", I ticked
"Always use this program to open this file" option ON and then chose
"Corel Draw" as the application.

What that did was link ALL of my *.LNK files to Corel Draw.
Now Every single link I have in my Start Menu executes Corel Draw
instead of the program it was originaly ment to launch. Every icon in
the start menu is now the Corel Draw filetype icon.
After right-click / properties, every single link in start menu still
has its target program in the dialog box, as it should have. But somehow
the system ignores the program link and opens the "link" as a file
instead following the link's link.

I hope you get what I mean.
Soo.... what can I do to fix this?

Thanks!

Re: Start menu links issue.

Hello Beyond Illusions,

You can download and merge the "lnk" .reg file in the tutorial below to restore the default lnk (shortcut) associations. It should restore this for you.

Default File Type Associations - Restore

Hope this helps,
Shawn
