internet explorer: adding links to to toolbar as buttons

Hello,

I have this site whose link is http://thesaurus.com/ .
Given that I use it quite frequently I would like it to
appear as a button on one of the toolbars but the
best I could do was add it to Favorites or to the
Links drop down menu which to me is no
different than Favorites because you
still got to go through a drop down
menu. I tried resizing the Links
part of the toolbar so that it
would be wider so that the
links on the menu would
actually show up as
buttons on the toolbar
but I could not drag it
and I don't think it's possible.
Anyone know how to add a link to
internet explorer as a quick
always visiable one-click
button whose icon is
the favicon for the
site?

Thanks,

John Goche

Get Internet Explorer 8 and add it to the Favorites bar.

Which is the Links bar in IE7, which the OP has, but with a different
name....

I don't understand. You can drag a URL to ANYWHERE on the links bar. Why
should it be a drop-down menu?

The OP's probably got the toolbars locked.

Drag the URL to your Quick Launch toolbar.

If you place it on the extreme left you can open it with WinKey+1.

View -> Toolbars -> Links

All the favorites on the links menu should show up.

You can grab the Links bar where it says "Links" by pointing the mouse
at the word "Links", holding down the left mouse button, and dragging
it where you want it to be. I keep mine on the same line as the menu
bar. If you can't drag it, choose View -> Toolbars and make sure "Lock
the Toolbars" is not checked.
